Twitter has many useful tools that make it easy for you to share noteworthy content with your followers. However, all of these tools and functions depend on you posting your tweets in real-time. If you had like to schedule a tweet in advance, or prefer to write several tweets at a time to post later, you can use TweetDeck, a free Twitter application, to automate the posting of your tweets at the dates and times you select.
AUTOMATIZE TWEETS
Visit tweetdeck.com, and click the option or app you prefer in the menu across the top. Download the TweetDeck software onto your Windows, Chrome, Mac or Linux desktop. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the necessary software, and register your TweetDeck account.
Launch the TweetDeck software on your computer.
Click the wrench icon in the upper right corner of the screen, then click the "Accounts" tab in the left column of the pop-up window that appears.
Click the "Add New Account" button on the right side of the pop-up window, then click "Twitter." Enter your Twitter username and password, and click "Verify Details," then click "Save Settings" when you are done.
Click the clock icon in the lower right corner below the post field at the top of the page. A pop-up box appears with scheduling.
Enter the date and time you had like your post to automatically appear in your timeline, then click the "Set Time" button.
Type your tweet in the "What's Happening?" field at the top of the screen. The words "What's Happening?" disappear when you click the field.
Press the "Enter" key to send the tweet. It will automatically appear in your timeline at the date and time you specified.
Repeat the process for any other tweets you had like to automatically post at a future date and time.
Tips and Warnings
You can also add automated tweets to your account through the use of RSS feeds. If you have a blog or a website that syndicates its content through the use of RSS, copy the RSS URL and visit Twitterfeed.com. Register for an account and create a new feed, using the URL of your site's RSS feed. Authorize Twitterfeed to connect to your Twitter account and customize the way Twitterfeed posts the content to your Twitter. When you are done, Twitterfeed automatically posts any new content on your site as tweets with links to your blog posts or site content.
Twitter recommends that you stagger your automated tweets in between real tweets and interaction with other Twitter users. If you only post links and tweets with no interaction, particularly if your posts are commercial in nature, other users may report you for spam.
